Who we are
Smart Match Legal is a trading name of Limelight Networks Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05915606). Our registered office is Office FF10, Brooklands House, 58 Marlborough Road, Lancing, West Sussex, BN15 8AF. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZA800371).

What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name, email, phone number, firm or organisation, years' PQE, practice area, jurisdiction, approximate billings, what you're interested in and any note you add.
- Free guide form: your name, email, firm, phone number, practice area and whether you're open to hearing about opportunities.
- Conversations: what you tell us by email, phone, video call or LinkedIn message, and your CV if you send it.
- Call bookings: the details you give when you book a call through Calendly.
Please don't send us anything about your clients or their matters. We only need to know about you and your practice.
How we use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and talk through your options. This is in our legitimate interests, and at your request.
- To introduce you to a law firm. We only share your name or details with a firm once you've agreed to that introduction. Your current firm is never contacted without your explicit consent.
- To send you the free guide and occasional relevant updates. This is based on your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To introduce you to referrers or other professionals, where you've asked us to.
- To run our business and meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
- Law firms, only with your agreement, as described above.
- Service providers who help us run the site and our business: Netlify (website hosting and form submissions), Calendly (call bookings), and our email provider. They only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers or authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard data protection clauses.
Cookies
This site doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. Its fonts load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and candidate details for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we're still working together. We keep accounting records for six years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it
- send your data to you or another organisation in a usable format
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just email nick@smartmatchnetwork.com. We'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
